In addition to the above wish lists, the following is a list of Mistress Zaynab's likes and preferences. Use this list as a guideline for purchasing gifts for the Mistress. Clothing Dress size: 6 (US) Mistress has very particular taste in clothing, and you may see examples in Her General Wish List. Mistress also enjoys gifts of various styles of stockings, pantyhose, knee high socks, and tights (Mistress loves Wolford - also found here). Shoes/Boots Size 8 (US) Ask about the styles Mistress Zaynab currently favors or see Her General Wish List. Mistress is fond of toe-ring styled sandals, decorated with stones and gems for summer and snug-fitting boots for other seasons (current favorite boots designed by Franco Sarto). Scents Vanilla, bergamot, almond and other sweet fragrances are the Mistress's favorites - best given as scented massage oils, essential olis, or body sprays. Handmade soaps lightly scented with lavender or tea tree oil are also welcome. The Mistress does NOT enjoy strong floral scents or musks. Mistress does NOT like it when males wear cologne. The Mistress's favorite soap is Zum Bar . The Mistress's favorite incense is Super Hit. Food Mistress Zaynab is a connoisseur of cuisine, and loves to be treated to gourmet foods. She is fond of sushi and smoked salmon, sweet eel, fresh oysters, as well as most other seafood. Many Middle Eastern, Afghani, and Ethiopian dishes are also a delight to Her palette. In addition She enjoys Hindu (vegetarian and non-dairy) Indian cuisine. The Mistress refuses to eat dairy products, red meat or chicken. Mistress Zaynab despises coconut and peanut butter. Mistress cannot eat foods containing wheat/gluten. Gifts of fine olive oils, herbs & spices (especially allspice, sumac and zatar), and excellent black teas as are always appreciated. If you wish to make a gift of fruit, Her favorites are raspberries, dates, and grapes. In regards to sweets, the Mistress prefers the darkest most bittersweet chocolate (containing no dairy), and dairy-free gluten-free treats (Larabars, for example). Drink The Mistress is a light drinker and enjoys fine sake, as well as good potato vodka. Dirty martini's with Chopin vodka are among Her favorites. Mistress Zaynab's favorite non-alcoholic beverages are Bom Dia Acai Energy, SteaZ Energy, Izze Clementine, and mineral water such as Gerolsteiner or San Pelligrino. Mistress will NOT drink any refreshment that contains corn syrup. Mistress's bottled water of choice is Smartwater. Books Mistress Zaynab is an avid writer and reader. Her current interests include Kashmir Shivaism, Vodoun, theories of sound, Continental philosophy/post-structuralism (Kristeva, Deleuze, Nietzsche, Bataille), breathwork, transcendental meditation, gurus, psychotropics, and dolls. Dolls Mistress Zaynab is attracted to dolls of all kinds, but especially the dolls of Ryoichi Yoshida (click here for examples), as well as the large (23 - 35 inch) vintage Playpal style walking dolls made around 1960 by companies such as Ideal, American Character, Uneeda, Eegee, and Horseman (see examples here and here). Any large dolls (21 inches or taller) with glass eyes and rooted hair are welcome additions to M. Zaynab's collection. Also, Japanese Soul Dolls, are a much coveted item. Art Works by (or art books containing the works by) Hans Bellmer, James Jean, Charlie White, Henry Darger, Francis Bacon, Man Ray, Joseph Cornell, Gregory Jacobsen, Helmut Newton, and Trevor Brown would very much please the Mistress. Also, anyone who brings Mistress a tiny rat netsuke - especially an unusual or rare one - will automatically gain Her favor. Music Mistress Zaynab enjoys Indian music, and is an admirer of Lata Mangeshkar. Arabic and Turkish belly dance music is also a favorite, as is Chobi. She also likes English music from the 1980s, including Joy Division, Bauhaus, and Siouxsie and the Banshees, as well as some disco such as the Bee Gees and ELO. She is also a fan of electronic musicians such as Wendy Carlos, Bruce Haack, and Brian Eno. She cannot get enough of Glenn Gould playing Bach, and adores Suicide.
